QUARANTINE CHRONICLES Series

If a few years ago I were told to become a surrealist painter, I wouldn't have believed in.

It must be the compensation for such a strong deeply analytical mind: sometimes I need a way out from myself. And at the same time, surrealism becomes a door on all of the answers and meanings I'm looking for.

These artoworks are born over Covid-19 pandemic. I named the series "Quarantine chronicles" because over March 2020, my country, like many others, went for a lockdown. We were allowed to go out just for buying food and a few other reasons. The firm I work for, has been shut until the beginning of May. Living by myself I haven't seen anybody for such a long period time. So I decided to use my time for painting and giving birth to all of those creatures that have chosen me as mother. Suddenly I was in good company.

Some of them became part of other series, some others do not belong to any specific subject and are still fluctuating here. They are the offsprings of the Quarantine Chronicles.

Shortly it will be one year since that moment: things are going slightly better now. Anyway I decided that forthcoming artworks that won't belong to specific projects, will be displayed here until pandemic will be over.
